Rhonda – Bottom Left, Kim – Top Right, and Kendalee – Bottom Right
Not only have we expanded our office, we’ve expanded our team too! As you may know, we moved into our brand new, state-of-the-art medical center last month and have had a few new friendly faces join Advanced Vein Center. In this blog post, we’re sitting down with Rhonda, our Patient Care Coordinator, along with Kim and Kendalee, our new Medical Assistants!
Tell us about yourself and your past experience.
Kim: This January, I will have been married to my husband Bobby for 29 years! We have three sons: Casey, Alex and Nicholas. I have been a Medical Assistant for 25 years and before joining Advanced Vein Center, I worked at Medical Rehabilitation for 9 years as the lead MA/clinical supervisor. Prior to that, I worked in the emergency room at Central Maine Medical Center as an emergency tech.
Rhonda: I have been married for 23 years to my husband Randy. My daughter is currently in school to be a Dental Hygienist and my son is a senior in high school. Prior to joining the AVC team, I worked at Portland Gastroenterology in the infusion center for 18 years!
Kendalee: I’ve been a Medical Assistant for 18 years. Before working at AVC, I worked in cosmetic dermatology and was actually an Aesthetician! I have two daughters, Ella Grace and Addison Marie, who are 12 and 13.
What made you want to join the Advanced Vein Center team?
Kim: When I came in for my first interview, I had such a great vibe from it. Everyone was so friendly and I loved the atmosphere. The vein industry was something that I never really experienced in all of my years of being a Medical Assistant so it’s very exciting to me to learn a new aspect of the medical field!
Rhonda: I was looking for a change and the position sounded very interesting. I actually used to drive by AVC’s sister practice, Cosmetic Enhancement Center’s old office every day. I saw that AVC was hiring and I was looking for a change – now here I am!
Kendalee: I’m excited to be working back in private practice vs being at a larger hospital. Since this industry is new to me, I’m looking forward to gaining experience in vein and wound care.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Kim: My husband and I love to travel to Florida (we go once a year!) and visit our kids who live out of state in Virginia and NYC. I also love spending time with our Newfoundland, Lulu. Gardening is also a hobby of mine.
Rhonda: I love to be at Pine Point Beach, it’s my happy place! I also love to be crafty and to garden – I like the outcome!
Kendalee: I love to go to the beach, spend time with my two girls and my pug, Georgia May. We’re actually getting another pug next month named Lemon! Another passion of mine is cooking, I enjoy trying to perfect new, vegetarian dishes. I’m not a vegetarian but I like trying new and healthy recipes!
